The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) is once again sponsoring National Radiologic Technology Week, an annual celebration of technologists throughout the United States, this year from Nov. 4 to Nov. 10.
National Radiologic Technology Week is held in early November in honor of Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen’s discovery of x-rays on Nov. 8, 1895. He won the first Nobel Prize in Physics for his efforts.
“Americans should know that the personnel who perform their medical imaging and radiation therapy procedures are educated professionals dedicated to providing exceptional and often life-saving care,” Melissa B. Jackowski, EdD, RT(R)(M), ASRT president, told Radiology Business. “As the premier professional association for the medical imaging and radiation therapy community, ASRT is proud to recognize our nation’s radiologic technologists for their indispensable role in health care and patient safety.”
This year’s theme, according to the ASRT website, is “Powerful Together.”
